A Ferrari 458 earns its reputation every time the naturally aspirated V8 climbs through the rev range. Italia, Spider, Speciale, and Challenge ownership combines a high revving engine with an intense heat load. And all that heat happens when the car sees a weekend road, a long drive, or serious circuit use. The Hollywood Mechanic Ferrari 458 radiator is collaboration with the legendary crew at CSF. We designed, created and tested a purpose built right side replacement radiator for Ferrari 458. Our new high performance radiator features all the latest cooling technology and innovations. It is a direct replacement for the factory installed radiator (OEM part # 270265).

The factory right side radiator uses an aluminum core with plastic end tanks joined by crimped gasket interfaces. A Ferrari 458 radiator upgrade becomes relevant when this original construction begins to show its age. As a result, over time, the plastic tank and crimped connection can become a source of coolant loss. Any cooling system weakness deserves immediate attention in a high performance V8 application.

The Hollywood Mechanic Ferrari 458 radiator removes the plastic end tank and crimped gasket interface from the replacement unit. Its aluminum tanks are TIG welded by computer controlled robots to the radiator assembly. The TIG welds are precise down to the millimeter, and the beads are perfectly distributed. A master welder cannot compete with the precision and focus of modern day TIG welding. This fusion of metals is actually stronger than the original military grade aluminum we use for the entire construction. It is important to note, that this unit is a right side only part. It is not interchangeable with the left side radiator because the layouts and OEM part references differ. Confirm the failed component is the right side radiator corresponding to OEM part 270265 before ordering.

Cooling capacity also matters. The factory radiator uses a one row core measuring 36 mm thick. On the other hand, our Ferrari 458 radiator uses a 2 row core measuring 42 mm thick. The 6 mm increase provides more coolant capacity and additional surface area for heat exchange. All while retaining the proper size for installation in the original location.

Our modern all aluminum core uses 69 cooling tubes and 70 cooling fin rows. The original factory radiator uses 68 cooling tubes and 69 cooling fin rows. Combined with the larger 2 row core, the added tube and fin count supports greater usable heat exchange capacity without changing the right side mounting position.

The new Ferrari 458 radiator we created also uses 5 mm multi louvered fins. The original fin height measures 5.1 mm. The new fin profile is designed to maintain useful airflow through the core while providing expanded heat exchange area. Cooling performance depends on the relationship between coolant flow, tube surface area, fin design, airflow, and radiator thickness. Although, these individual incremental differences seem insignificant. When added up, they make a large difference in cooling capacity. B Tube technology is central to the design. Conventional radiator tubes use a basic oval profile. B Tube technology adds an internal structure that increases tube strength and expands internal heat transfer area. The B Tube design increases tube heat transfer area by approximately 15% compared with regular oval welded tubes. The internal shape also promotes dual liquid laminar flow, helping move heat from the coolant into the radiator fins more efficiently.

When the B Tube design works with the 2 row 42 mm core and multi louvered fins, the result is an estimated 20 – 25% increase in heat transfer efficiency compared with the original radiator. Yes, you read that correctly. That is a dramatic difference in performance. It gives our new Ferrari 458 radiator a massive additional thermal reserve for demanding driving conditions.

This Hollywood Mechanic Ferrari 458 radiator uses 100% TIG welded aluminum construction. Aluminum end tanks replace the original plastic tanks. Computer programmed robotic welding produces precise and repeatable weld placement across the assembly. Premium military grade aluminum supports the radiator through pressure, vibration, and repeated heat cycles while avoiding the plastic tank and crimped gasket interface used in the original part.

The right side radiator includes CNC machined mounting brackets and OEM style double barbed inlet and outlet hose connections. The mounting points, ducting, shrouds, brackets, hose connections, and power steering cooler relationship align with the original right side configuration. We use laser measurements and test fittings during production to ensure a perfect fit. To top it all off, the premium satin black finish provides a clean OEM style appearance in the front cooling area.

To improve serviceability, a one quarter inch NPT threaded drain plug is added in the lower right tank. The original radiator does not include this drain provision. During future coolant service, a technician can use the drain plug to manage coolant more directly instead of repeatedly removing and manipulating hoses at the radiator connections. This is a small detail with practical value, especially when the surrounding hoses and service components have aged. It also makes this new and improved Ferrari 458 radiator easier to service at a later date.The unit is a true plug & play drop in replacement.
