Service Terms

These Automotive Service, Repair Authorization, Mobile Service, and Vehicle Release Terms provide a public summary of the service process used by HWOOD MECH, INC., doing business as Hollywood Mechanic. They apply to inquiries, appointments, estimates, diagnostics, repairs, maintenance, inspections, mobile services, customization, performance work, and related automotive services that Hollywood Mechanic may provide. These Terms do not replace the written estimate, repair order, service authorization, additional authorization, invoice, work order, vehicle-release document, warranty document, or other transaction specific record applicable to a particular vehicle or service. Those documents govern the particular transaction to the extent of a conflict. For service questions or appointment inquiries, use the Contact Us form. Include the vehicle identification number and nature of the inquiry only when reasonably necessary for the requested service. Do not submit unnecessary sensitive information through the general Contact Us form.
Appointments, Inquiries, and Quotes
Hollywood Mechanic is an appointment-focused automotive business. A website inquiry, quote request, preliminary discussion, public price statement, or appointment request is not a commitment by Hollywood Mechanic to perform work, accept a vehicle, provide a particular part, achieve a particular result, or enter a service contract. Hollywood Mechanic may evaluate the requested work, vehicle condition, parts availability, scheduling, safety, access, staffing, equipment, legal requirements, and other relevant facts before accepting a service request. Hollywood Mechanic may decline, limit, postpone, or cancel a requested service where reasonably necessary for safety, law, feasibility, availability, scope, payment, customer cooperation, or business operations.
Estimates, Diagnostic Work, and Authorization
Where required or appropriate for the requested work, Hollywood Mechanic provides or obtains the applicable estimate and customer authorization before repair work begins. The estimate, authorization, repair order, work order, invoice, and related transaction documents govern the approved work, pricing, parts, labor, diagnostic charges, teardown work, sublet work, additional work, taxes, fees, and other transaction specific terms. A diagnostic, inspection, teardown, or disassembly procedure may be needed to determine the condition of a vehicle or provide an accurate estimate. Any applicable diagnostic or teardown scope, charge, authorization, and next-step decision are governed by the relevant written transaction document. Hollywood Mechanic performs additional repair work only after obtaining the authorization required for that work. If a proposed repair, part, or condition changes the approved scope, Hollywood Mechanic may pause work until the appropriate authorization is obtained.
Vehicle Condition, Owner Information, and Customer Cooperation
The person authorizing service represents that they are the registered owner of the vehicle or have authority from the owner to request the work and approve the applicable transaction documents. The customer is responsible for providing accurate vehicle, ownership, contact, insurance, service history, modification, prior-repair, key/access, and condition information reasonably needed for the requested service. Before releasing a vehicle to Hollywood Mechanic, remove or secure valuables, sensitive documents, firearms, controlled substances, cash, loose items, and personal property not necessary for the service. Hollywood Mechanic is not responsible for personal property left in a vehicle except to the extent caused by Hollywood Mechanic’s own conduct or where liability cannot lawfully be limited. The customer must promptly disclose known modifications, prior damage, safety concerns, warning indicators, aftermarket systems, performance modifications, track or racing use, accident history, warranty or insurance requirements, and other conditions that may affect diagnosis, service, safety, fitment, or outcome.
Parts, Sublet Work, and Customer-Supplied Materials
Hollywood Mechanic may use new, used, rebuilt, reconditioned, remanufactured, aftermarket, OEM, or other parts only as stated in the applicable estimate, authorization, invoice, or transaction document. Any request for replaced parts, core parts, or disclosure of sublet work is handled through the documentation and authorization process applicable to the transaction. If Hollywood Mechanic agrees in writing to install or use a customer supplied part, customer provided material, or customer directed product, the customer represents that the material is lawful, safe, compatible, non infringing, and appropriate for the intended use. Hollywood Mechanic may decline any supplied material that appears unsafe, incorrect, incompatible, damaged, unlawful, or unsuitable. Any warranty, return, labor, fitment, diagnostic, safety, or liability treatment for customer supplied or customer directed materials is stated in the applicable transaction document. Nothing in this section excludes a right or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Mobile Service and Site Conditions
Where Hollywood Mechanic agrees in writing to provide mobile maintenance, inspection, diagnostic, or other service, the customer is responsible for providing safe, lawful, accessible, adequately lit, reasonably level, and suitable work conditions; approved access to the vehicle; any required property or venue permissions; and truthful information about the location and vehicle condition. Hollywood Mechanic may refuse, pause, reschedule, or stop mobile service if conditions are unsafe, unlawful, inaccessible, unsuitable, materially different from the information provided, or likely to risk injury, property damage, equipment damage, environmental harm, or noncompliance. The customer is responsible for any location specific approvals or requirements allocated to the customer in the applicable transaction document.
Performance, Modification, Diagnostics, and No Guaranteed Outcome
Vehicle condition, diagnosis, repair outcome, performance, reliability, compatibility, timing, safety, and cost may depend on factors beyond a technician’s control, including prior repairs, modifications, concealed damage, vehicle age, manufacturer software, parts availability, environmental conditions, owner use, and information not available during inspection. Hollywood Mechanic does not guarantee a particular diagnosis, performance result, fuel economy, vehicle value, road or track result, emissions result, schedule, warranty outcome, or future vehicle condition unless a verified written transaction document expressly provides a specific warranty or guarantee. Performance, tuning, racing, off road, or modification work may create safety, warranty, insurance, emissions, road use, and legal consequences. The customer is responsible for determining whether a requested modification or use is lawful and appropriate.
Payment, Storage, Release, and Records
Payment terms, deposits, diagnostic charges, storage charges, cancellation charges, taxes, returned part treatment, warranty terms, and vehicle release requirements are stated in the applicable estimate, repair order, invoice, vehicle release document, or transaction specific agreement. Hollywood Mechanic may maintain estimates, authorizations, invoices, service and repair records, parts records, vehicle identifying information, and related communications as required or reasonably necessary for operations, legal compliance, warranty, tax, customer support, dispute resolution, and claim defense. Personal information is handled as described in the Privacy Policy.
Safety, Recalls, and Customer Responsibilities
The customer remains responsible for following vehicle manufacturer instructions, warning lights, recall notices, applicable safety requirements, and lawful vehicle use. Hollywood Mechanic’s service does not substitute for a manufacturer recall remedy, an official safety inspection, an emissions inspection, or another service unless Hollywood Mechanic expressly agrees in writing to provide that particular service. If a vehicle is unsafe to operate, the customer must follow applicable law and reasonable safety guidance. Hollywood Mechanic may decline to release a vehicle in a manner that is unlawful or creates an immediate safety risk, subject to applicable law and the relevant transaction documents.
Relationship to Website Providers and Other Independent Parties
Independent developers, website creators, website operators, hosting providers, payment providers, and other technology providers may support Hollywood Mechanic’s website and systems. They do not perform automotive repair work, make repair diagnoses, accept vehicles, issue repair authorizations, determine service scope, or control Hollywood Mechanic’s automotive operations merely by providing technology or services to HWOOD MECH, INC. To the maximum extent permitted by law, such independent technology providers do not assume Hollywood Mechanic’s automotive service obligations merely by providing design, code, hosting, maintenance, technical support, consulting, or another tool or service. This statement does not limit a right or remedy that applicable law provides based on a person’s own conduct.
