The factory Ferrari shift forks are secured by a small snap ring that does not evenly distribute locking pressure along the outer edge. This can lead to issues as the shift forks move on a bushing with some play, causing the bushing to collide with the insufficient snap ring during shifts. Over time, the snap ring may break, resulting in the bushing twisting and fluid leaking past it.

Our kit includes bushings that are identical to the original Ferrari bushings, but with a thicker face to eliminate the banging against the snap ring. Additionally, the outer seal has been upgraded to a 75 durometer Viton seal, capable of withstanding pressures up to 1800psi (double the PTU’s operating pressure). We have also incorporated a PTFE spring-loaded hydraulic seal rated for 5000psi and self-lubricating properties. As the PTU ages, the spring will maintain sealing pressure long after the clutches have worn out.

Furthermore, we provide all necessary seals and gaskets for the PTU, except for the Teflon clutch actuator face seals, which are highly durable and have not failed in any unit we have serviced. The factory Ferrari shift forks are secured by a small snap ring that does not evenly distribute locking pressure along the outer edge. This results in the shift forks riding on a bushing with free play, causing the bushing to forcefully impact against the insufficient snap ring during shifts. Over time, the snap ring may break, leading to the bushing twisting and fluid leakage past it.

Our PTU Repair Kit includes bushings that are identical to the original Ferrari bushings, with the addition of a thicker face that eliminates the impact against the snap ring. Furthermore, the outer seal has been upgraded to a static 75 durometer Viton seal rated to withstand 1800psi, double the operating pressure of the PTU. Additionally, we have incorporated a PTFE spring-loaded hydraulic seal in the center, capable of withstanding pressures up to 5000psi and it is self-lubricating.

As the PTU ages, the spring within the seal will maintain its sealing pressure long after the PTU clutches have worn out. We also provide all necessary seals and gaskets for the PTU, except for the Teflon clutch actuator face seals, which are highly durable and have not experienced any failures in the units we have serviced.
