Returns Policy

This Returns and Refund Policy explains how HWOOD MECH, INC., doing business as Hollywood Mechanic, handles eligible returns, exchanges, refunds, cancellations, and product concerns for purchases through https://hollywoodmechanic.com/. It is incorporated into the Terms of Service. Nothing in this Policy limits a statutory consumer right, warranty, cancellation right, consumer guarantee, or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited. For a return, cancellation, or product concern, use the Contact Us form and include your order number where available.

Standard Return Requests

Returns are accepted for unopened and unused items purchased through the website when the return request is submitted within 30 days after delivery. An eligible return item must be unopened, unused, uninstalled, unaltered, clean, in substantially the condition received, and returned with original packaging, tags, accessories, documentation, certificates, gifts, and included materials where applicable. Submit a return request through the Contact Us form before sending an item back. Hollywood Mechanic provides return instructions, including whether return is required, the authorized return address, and reasonable documentation needed to review the request. Do not send an item to an address found online or on a prior shipment without written instructions.

Special Order, Custom, Installed, Damaged, and Non Returnable Items

Special order items are not eligible for discretionary return. Custom, made-to-order, personalized, modified, installed, used, altered, or non resalable items may also be non returnable or final sale when disclosed before purchase and permitted by law. Automotive parts, repair kits, tools, and accessories may not be eligible for a discretionary return if they have been installed, used, modified, damaged after delivery, incorporated into a vehicle or system, exposed to fluids or contamination, or returned without required components or packaging. Do not install or alter an item that appears incorrect, damaged, incomplete, or materially different from the accepted description. A final sale or non returnable designation does not limit rights for an item that is defective, damaged on arrival, incorrectly fulfilled, materially misdescribed, or otherwise subject to a mandatory remedy.

Damaged, Defective, Incorrect, Incomplete, or Misdescribed Orders

If an item arrives damaged, defective, incorrect, incomplete, or materially different from the accepted description, submit a request through the Contact Us form promptly after delivery. Include the order number, a concise description, and photographs of the item and packaging where reasonably available. Hollywood Mechanic reviews the concern. Depending on the facts and applicable law, Hollywood Mechanic may provide repair, replacement, reshipment, return instructions, a partial refund, a full refund, or another appropriate remedy. Hollywood Mechanic may request reasonable information for investigation but does not use documentation requirements to defeat a non waivable right.

Fitment, Installation, and Customer-Requested Returns

You are responsible for confirming the product’s compatibility, part number, application, and suitability before installation or use. A customer requested return based solely on fitment, compatibility, or preference may be subject to the applicable disclosed return requirements where permitted by law. This section does not limit a remedy where Hollywood Mechanic supplied an item that was defective, materially misdescribed, or incorrect based on the accepted order and verified product information.

Refunds and Exchanges

After Hollywood Mechanic receives and inspects an eligible return, we notify you of approval, denial, or information reasonably needed. Approved refunds are issued to the original payment method unless applicable law or payment provider rules require another method. Financial institutions and payment providers may take additional time to post a refund. For a discretionary return, original shipping, expedited service, gift wrap, customs or duties, and non product charges may be non refundable if disclosed before purchase and permitted by law. If Hollywood Mechanic made an error, an item was defective or damaged, or law requires another outcome, Hollywood Mechanic provides the required remedy. Hollywood Mechanic may offer an exchange depending on inventory and product type. Store credit is offered only with your agreement or where permitted by law; it is not a substitute for a legally required refund. If a promotion, bundle, gift, or discount applied, Hollywood Mechanic may require the return of the promotional item or adjust a discretionary refund for value retained only where clearly disclosed and permitted by law.

Return Shipping and Restocking Charges

For a discretionary return, you are responsible for return shipping, including any associated import taxes or duties. Hollywood Mechanic may provide a prepaid label and deduct its disclosed cost from a refund where permitted by law. Hollywood Mechanic pays or reimburses reasonable return shipping where required by law or when it confirms its error, an actual defect, damage on arrival, incorrect fulfillment, or material misdescription. A 15% restocking fee may be applied to an eligible discretionary return. The fee is not applied where prohibited or where the return results from Hollywood Mechanic’s error, a defect, damage on arrival, or material misdescription.

Cancellations, Changes, and Abuse Prevention

Contact Hollywood Mechanic promptly through the Contact Us form if you wish to cancel or change an order. Hollywood Mechanic attempts to accommodate the request before fulfillment, special ordering, carrier processing, customization, or another irreversible stage begins. Hollywood Mechanic cannot guarantee cancellation after that point, subject to rights that apply by law. Hollywood Mechanic may investigate a return, exchange, chargeback, promotion, or account pattern where it reasonably suspects fraud, abuse, manipulation, resale, theft, or violation of these policies. Hollywood Mechanic may take lawful steps to protect the business, records, customers, and payment systems; it does not use this right to deny a valid legal remedy.
